Long overdue update

Hello from The Soto's once again! We have not blogged since Sienna was born but believe we are still alive and busier than ever!
I promise to be better and update our blog monthly if not sooner so please keep checking.

New Addition (April 2010)

And SHE has arrived!
Birth Story: I woke up April Fools Day morning with contractions and so we went to our regular doc appt at 10:30am. Doc said we were dilated to 2 and scheduled for us to be induced on Monday morning. I soon called my cousin who works at Mercy and she squeezed us in to be induced Friday morning @ 6AM. At 10PM that night I woke Carl up and had him take me to the hospital because I was having bad contractions. The nurse checked me and said I was only dilated to a 3 and my contractions were still 10mins apart so she sent us home around 12AM and said to come back if they got closer togather. We got home and I tried to sleep but the contractions kept getting stronger so I played around on the computer and then about 2AM decided to take a shower to relax. I no sooner got out of the shower and dressed and my water broke! YAY! its finally time to go! I woke Carl up again and we got to the hospital at 3AM. The nurse checked me and was totally surprised to realize I had dialted to an 8 in ONLY 3 hours. The nurses rushed around to try and get me an epidural but as soon as they got my IV in I felt the urge to push so I told the nurse to check me and sure enough I was dialted to 10. YAY....again! Time to get this baby out!!! but NO epidural :( Sienna Jade Soto was born @ 3:55AM weighing 6lbs. 5oz. 19.5inches long with TONS of hair

May 2008

WOW! Has this month seemed to drag on....but yet we have been busy almost every weekend.
We started off the month by going to Adventureland with Carl's brothers family and ours of course :) The morning was chilly but eventually got kind of nice so it worked out great!

Then our neighbor gave us tickets to the Nascar race in Newton so Carl and I got to go to our very first race and we had a blast!!! Plus we got a nice to ourselves too boot :)

Then of course Sayli started softball and I have to admit that she is doing much better this year but Carl and I our keeping our fingers crossed that she continues to enjoy it!

Then we had Mothers Day...it was the best mothers day yet because Carl got me pink golf clubs. It would help if I knew how to use them though...haha Someday!

Then for Memorial Day I took Sayli to Easter Lake to visit Daddy Ben because that is where we took his ashes last year. I explained to her why we were there and what Memorial Day was all about and she got very sad but at least she understood what was going on...

Then my lil brother graduted from high school...I had quite the mixed emotions about this one.

The saddest moment of all for me this month was my baby graduating from preschool and getting her lil diploma. Where is the time going?

April 2008

I can't believe it is April and we are still getting snow...UNBELIEVEABLE!
At least we have had a few nice days so the kids could go out on the deck and play...

Sayli had her 1st birthday party on the 5th and she had so much fun she is already planning for her bday in August...girls!

Sev started acting interested in the potty so we got him his own potty and have really been trying....I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Then Sayli had her first Softball practice! She don't start her games till May but hopefully with all these practices she won't play in the dirt this year :)

March 2008

On March 8th we spent the day at Kids Fest with the kids. They had lots of fun but we were all tired by the end of the day.

Then seeing that is was my sister's 15th birthday that day we all went out to eat at Red Robin and celebrated with an ice cream cake at my parents house afterwards.

Then came Easter....the kids LOVED having to find their hidden baskets this year :)


Then I took the kids to get their Spring pictures taken...they turned out absolutely adorable!!!

Then on March 29th My best friend, Crystal, her friends Angie and Rosie and I all went to Iowa City for Crystal's Bachelorette Party and spent the day at the spa.
We had a blast and definitely wanted to bring the spa home with us!

February 2008

Well I can honestly say it has actually been a fairly quiet month for us....
it has been way too cold to do anything except shovel snow and let Sayli go out and play in it.

Valentine's Day was also quiet for us which was kind of nice for a change...

The hardest part of this month was on the 19th when Sev had to have surgery for tubes, adnoids removed and his hypospadius repair. He has adjusted well but I think it was much harder for mom and dad than it was for him.

Then on the 23rd we had a surprise 50th dinner for my cousin, Renne. After dinner all the girls rode in a limo and went gambling for awhile. Everyone had a blast!


Then the 26th was my golden birthday so on the 29th Carl and I went out with some of my friends and celebrated...It was definitely nice to get out after been so stressed out with Sev's surgery and stuff this month.
